Pokemon Unite MOBA coming this summer

Pokemon has been out and around for as long as I can remember, it has grown to be one of the most popular gaming franchises in the world. And it seems like Pokemon has no plans for letting anyone else step into the spotlight, not anytime soon anyways.

With the gaming universe expanding at an exponential rate, it seems like the perfect opportunity for the big guns to step in and scoop out as many players as they can. Especially if we look at how fast the mobile gaming industry has grown in the last few years. And Pokemon seems to have come up with the perfect candidate to bag the victory this year.

The already-diverse gaming franchise has just announced the release of their very first MOBO title, Pokemon Unite. However, the game isn’t released yet and we also don’t have any news about the release date either. But luckily Pokemon has released a Beta version of the game recently, so here is all you need to know about Pokemon Unite!

About Pokemon Unite

Pokemon Unite is Pokemon’s upcoming MOBA title that is also free to play. The game was announced last year at the end of June but we still don’t have any fixed release date for it.

It will be a 5v5 competitive strategy based game that will be competing against the already popular titles such as League of Legends. Pokemon Unite is being developed by two of the most prominent names in the gaming industry, The Pokemon Company and the wild card, Tencent’s TiMi studios.

Coming from such promising developers, I think Pokemon Unite will be able to live up to all the hype that it has been getting for quite a while now. Of course, the Pokemon touch will always be there to make things even more interesting as fans are coming up with all sorts of awesome ideas for how the game would turn out.

However, Pokemon hasn’t been talkative about the in-depth features or gameplay of the game, even with the release of Beta, they have advised NOT to share the gameplay with anyone on the internet.  And it totally makes sense, this is the first time Pokemon is going to be releasing a MOBA title and I think they really want people to see the end product.

Pokemon Beta Release

We might not have a fixed release date for Pokemon Unite but luckily, Pokemon has released a Beta version of the game for the fans to try out and give their feedback so that they can improve the overall experience of the game, before finishing up the final version.

However, the Beta release isn’t globally available but it is exclusively available for the residents of Canada. So, if you are living in Canada, you can go ahead and download the Beta version of Pokemon Unite from Playstore. Although the players aren’t supposed to share the gameplay footage, they can surely share their experience in the game and they already have!

Pokemon Unite lets you battle off with rival teams in a 5v5 competitive match. You need to work with your teammates and come up with strategies to beat your opponents.

The objectives are pretty simple, you need to score more points than the opposing team by invading into their designated scoring areas. You can also catch some wild Pokemon and evolve them, which can be extremely useful when battling out with your rivals during the battle.

The team that manages to acquire more points during the allotted time will be declared the winner of the match. If you have ever played any MOBA game before, it will be a breeze settling in the world of Pokemon Unite, even the map looks extremely familiar to League of Legends.

However, if you haven’t played any MOBA titles before, don’t worry as Pokemon Unite has got you covered with its detailed yet easy to follow tutorials to get you started, after you have picked up your Pokemon. Which brings us to….

Pokemon Unite Leaks and Rumors

Pokemon Unite has surely pumped the Pokemon fans up with excitement and we have been getting a lot of leaks recently, some of which are quite promising.

It seems like Pokemon Unite might also offer some in-app purchases to the players, these will apparently include apparels and other items. And considering it’s a free to play title, I think it will be pretty cool to have something that hardcore fans can spend their cash on.

How is it Going to Affect the MOBA Genre?

Pokemon has never let the fans down, maybe a few hiccups every now and then but it has managed to live up to the player’s expectations. But two giants of the gaming industry coming together to work on a single game, it is destined to be amazing!

Add to the fact that the Pokemon franchise already has a huge fan base, waiting for the game to release. So, it would be more than safe to say that Pokemon Unite will be a massive hit in the MOBA genre when it comes out.
